The importance of early detection of cardiovascular conditions

According to a study conducted by the State of State Health, the State of Michigan was deemed to have the best quality of heart disease care in the United States.  With that in mind, patients when looking for consultants should approach those who have been termed the ‘Doctor’s Doctor’ and search for heart surgeons in Detroit.

As has been widely publicised, heart disease is the biggest killer in the United States with more than half a million Americans dying annually from the condition.  A number of factors contribute to heart disease, occurring generally as a result of an unhealthy diet, a lack of exercise, smoking or family history of the condition.  Although the latter can be difficult to prevent or detect, early consultation for that reason remains important, while the former categories can be prevented more successfully through leading a more active, healthy lifestyle.

Cardiovascular conditions need to be detected early to reduce their potentially fatal effects.  Early detection of cardiovascular disease is critically important to the long-term success of treatment, with consultants providing specialized advice and if necessary surgery to tackle the onset of heart disease.  Detection can prove difficult in some cases, but the adoption of the most advanced techniques is reducing significantly the risks associated with the condition.

It is estimated that 40-50% of all heart attack patients have normal levels of cholesterol, meaning the need to better understand each condition is pressing.  The search for the best treatment can be challenging, as patients require the best information and treatments from the leaders in the cardiovascular field.

Ultimately though, the leading of a healthy and active lifestyle can be the greatest form of prevention.

Hi, Paul – great question. Here’s an article with an answer for nine different types of heart exam. The recommended age for starting them varies depending on the type of exam, but it’s between 40 and 60. http://www.prevention.com/health/health-concerns/heart-attacks-7-heart-tests-can-save-your-life
